Yoga Therapy
Yoga therapists are qualified yoga teachers who have undergone another 2 years of specialised training in yoga therapy. Yoga therapy is designed to help people with medical problems and stress related conditions. Life can get you down and that brings on other problems: sore back, shoulders, hips, etc.
Yoga, as we know, is a holistic system for promoting good health, both physical and mental. When the balance is disturbed by illness yoga can restore it and help manage the illness.
Yoga therapy can help people by tailoring yoga to their individual needs taking into account their health problems and personal circumstances.
Yoga therapy starts with a consultation to find out the present condition of the client and explain what will happen at their personal one to one sessions. The therapist will then leave and work out a personalised programme of yoga practices to meet the client's needs.
A series of one to one sessions can be booked and these sessions will be tailored to the client, no prior knowledge of yoga is needed. All the sessions will consist of postures to aid recovery, breathing and relaxation exercises. The client will learn simple exercises to practise until the next session.
Yoga therapy helps people to look after their own health. Please see my associated website yogadoctor.co.uk.
