Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga

Ashtanga comes from the words ast which means eight and anga which means limbs.

Vinyasa means breath connected movement.

Ashtanga Yoga

Ashtanga yoga is like a flowing dance held together with the breath. It is also known as Power yoga or Dynamic yoga because of it’s energising properties and the high level of fitness, which comes from practising it. It is designed to realign the body therapeutically, freeing the muscular system and rebalancing the skeletal system.

Postures are linked with vinyasas, which create a deep purifying heat, nourishing the internal organs and ridding the body of toxins.

The nervous system is soothed and the blood purified.   The mind is freed of tension.

Yogamax

Yogamax is my own unique blend of power yoga, and it’s rapidly setting the standard of excellence demanded by today’s keep fit enthusiasts.

I adapted this ancient science to suit modern day requirements and developed a group of exercises that combine both Ashtanga and Hatha. Basically it’s a fast yoga workout routine, specifically designed to firm and beautify the body without adding muscle weight.

Technically I use the Ashtanga sun salutations and ujjayi breathing and link postures with vinyasa’s. Most postures are held for 5 breaths but can be held longer as required. Yogamax exercises and tones the body from inside and out and teaches you the art of relaxation as well - a necessity in today’s world.
